Gentse Barge

The Ghent Barge was a flat-bottomed horse-drawn boat that navigated the Ghent-Bruges canal in the 17th century. For about 200 years, this vessel provided a permanent shuttle service between both cities. This historical barge has been fully reconstructed and is now available for receptions, seminars or conferences.

With its conference room seating up to 25 people and equipped with power connections, Wi-Fi, a projection screen and  sound system, Gentse Barge offers all the facilities you need for a unique meeting. 

Weigh anchor after the meeting and enjoy a relaxing boat trip through the picturesque waters of Ghent.

• Navigation Options:
  • The Barge sails on all inland waters, including the Leie, the Scheldt, the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal, and the Ghent-Ostend Canal.
• Catering Options:
  • Choose from a wide range of catering options or opt for bar service only, tailored to your needs.
• Accessibility:
  • The Barge is usually moored at Koophandelsplein square, in the city centre. This makes the Barge easily accessible both by public transport and by car (there are underground car parks in the vicinity). It is possible to request other boarding and  disembarking locations.
