Vintage design market in Vrijdagmarkt

Ghent is jumping on the vintage bandwagon. The first Ghent design market will be held in Vrijdagmarkt on 20 September, with gadgets from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. The intention is to put the ‘City of Artevelde’ on the map once and for all as a design destination. In addition, in collaboration with the Ghent Design Museum, a route has been mapped out for the day which will take in a series of interesting design addresses. Keen design detectives will have to get up early: the market starts at 6 a.m. and ends around 6 p.m. A second edition of the market is planned in May 2010.
