KoBra gives the city centre a facelift

These days, a pedestrian in Korenmarkt might be forgiven for imagining himself in the wilderness at times. But it’s all in a good cause: KoBra is the project for the complete redevelopment of Korenmarkt, Emile Braunplein, Belfortstraat and surrounding areas. Braunplein is undergoing the most radical makeover. The above-ground car park will be closed, making way for a green park and a polyvalent, open city hall. Other developments include a grand café, bicycle parks and public toilets. Project KoBra is being carried out in phases and is scheduled to last until 2012.
