Festive inauguration

02/02/2012 - On 2 March 2012 the new Ghent Tourist Office is officially opening its doors at the renovated Old Fish Market with a festive inauguration ceremony. However, a month earlier, on 1 February, the staff will move in to familiarise with their new working environment. From then onwards you can pop in day and night to obtain information on Ghent and its events.

100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize in Literature

02/02/2012 - On 9 November 1911 the Swedish Academy awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature to the Ghent-born author Maurice Maeterlinck. To date he remains the only Belgian writer to have been honoured with this award.

Light Festival 2012

09/11/2011 - The first edition of the Light Festival Ghent earlier this year was a great success. Next year the festival will take place in Ghent once again and it'll last four nights this time - we're adding Sunday night too! Great news for our professional partners! From 26 to 29 January 2012, from 6 p.m. till midnight, Ghent will be bathed in light again. There will be both intimate and impressive lighting artworks along a wintry route through the city centre.
