Eight Corinthian pillars crowned with a triangular pediment. The auditorium hosts proclamations, during which degrees and honorary doctorates are presented. In 2000, they inspired the artist Jan Fabre to create an installation which caught the attention of CNN but which received a lot of criticism in Belgium: he wrapped the columns in smoked ham. Unfortunately, the ham did not stay fresh and had to be removed earlier than planned.
