The new Ghent City Museum (STAM) will open its doors on the Bijloke site during the weekend of 9 and 10 October 2010. The permanent exhibition tells the story of the city of Ghent in a contemporary manner. ‘Enlightened City’ is the name of the first temporary exhibition.

You will find the detailed programme for the opening weekend below. Welcome!

Programme Saturday 9 October 2010:

10:00 a.m. – midnight: Free entrance to the STAM: the permanent exhibition ‘The story of Ghent’ and the temporary exhibition ‘Enlightened City’
8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.: Breakfast for all the attendants from all the Ghent museums
9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.: Return boat trip by the 'Barge' between Ghent and Bruges, with readings along the way (in cooperation with ‘Vormingplus’)
10:00 a.m. – midnight: PeopleTwoMinutes
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 a.m.: Bar under the tent in the orchard, nice and cosy, with open fires (from 7:30 p.m.) (DJ starting from 5 p.m.)
Noon – 8:00 p.m.: Experience the STAM and its neighbours at the Bijloke site, artistic performances together with the ‘Bijloke’ neighbours
2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: Workshops for children
8:00 p.m. – midnight: ‘Light forest’, artistic performance by Michael Langeder in the orchard in front of the STAM
10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.: STAM party with DJ’s from Ghent in the entrance hall of the STAM

Programme Sunday 10 October 2010:

10:00 a.m. – midnight: Free entrance to the STAM: the permanent exhibition ‘The story of Ghent’ and the temporary exhibition ‘Enlightened City’
10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.: Brunch in a box
10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.: Experience the STAM and its neighbours at the Bijloke site, artistic performances together with the ‘Bijloke’ neighbours
10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.: Bar under the tent in the orchard, nice and cosy, with open fires (DJ from 12 noon onwards)
10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.: PeopleTwoMinutes
11:00 a.m. - noon: Aperitif concert in the Music Centre at the Bijloke site
2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: Workshops for children
